Alexandra Gillespie (Member only)


Alexandra Gillespie is a Director for SS&C GlobeOp, leading a global department handling middle office processing of complex investment portfolios for institutions and alternative funds. She has specialist experience with OTC derivative processing.

Alexandra is a Solicitor by qualifications with a Joint Honours degree in Law and Economics from Cardiff University with circa 20 years experience in the financial markets. Alexandra was a Governor of Avenue Primary School for three years and both her two daughters were pupils there.

Declared interests: Employee of SS&C Technologies since May 2011.

Duong Hong (Member and Trustee)

Duong Hong-resizedDuong Hong is currently the Business Systems & Solutions Director at DTZ in the City and has been finance lead on operational and strategic boards. His background is as a Chartered Accountant and is in the process of finalising this with the ACCA to be recognised as a full member. He has held various financial roles up to the level of Financial Controller for a national business. In a finance capacity he has been responsible for:

  • setting up financial processes and controls for: accounts payable (P2P), credit control, accounts receivable (O2C), management Accounts
  • working with auditors for year-end accounts, substantive testing and tests of financial controls
  • budgeting, forecasting and finance reviews

Duong has been a school governor since 2011.

Dorothy Middlemass (Member only)

dorothy_resizedDorothy Middlemass has had over 40 years experience in education, 25 of these in primary headship. She has worked as English Adviser, publishing a number of teaching resources and has been a tutor for the National Professional Qualification for Headship. She has supported many schools through her work as an External Adviser, a School Improvement Partner and a National Leader of Education.

Since retiring from headship in 2011 she has worked part time as an Education Consultant. She has been a Chair of Governors for two years and is a National Leader of Governance.

Rumu Sen-Gupta (Member only)

Rumu Sen-Gupta has a professional Arts background and worked in theatre and television as a director and producer for fifteen years. During this period, she was Joint Artistic Director of the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry, responsible for setting the artistic policy for the theatre as well as commissioning new writers and directing productions. She worked at the BBC directing and producing television programmes; and was responsible for the creation of a successful new prime-time interactive detective drama series for the BBC World Service Trust in collaboration with Indian public service broadcaster; Doordarshan and the National AIDS Control Organisation to educate and spread awareness on HIV and related issues.

In these roles, Rumu was responsible for financial budgeting and delivery to targets in addition to the creative aspects.

Rumu currently works as a civil servant and has been a primary school parent governor in Sutton for eight years, including chairing the Personnel and Curriculum Committees and a period as Vice-Chair of the Governing Body.

Ian Lewis (Finance) (Member and Trustee)

il_photoIan Lewis is the Chair of the Board of Directors of Cirrus Primary Academy Trust.

Ian is an Underwriter at Tokio Marine Kiln Syndicates Ltd.  He is a global market leader in the insurance of Intellectual Property risks with over 27 years’ experience in the creation, assessment and placement of risk transfer solutions for exposures such as Intellectual Property litigation, liability and financial loss. Much of this time has been working clients and insurance intermediaries on a global basis, especially, USA, Europe, Australia, China and Japan.  Ian has held senior roles in the Insurance sector as a Director at Miller Insurance Services Ltd and CEO of Samian Underwriting Agencies Ltd.  He has also consulted for the European Commission and National Patent Offices in Europe and the Far East.

Diana Peeva (HR) (Trustee only)

Diana Peeva is a qualified HR professional with over 12 years experience in both profit and non-profit organisations. She is currently HR Director for an award-winning and successful group, working with 550 team members. Her key area of expertise is organisational development(OD) and stakeholder engagement – leading multi-cultural and multidisciplinary teams to build a distinctive, high performing culture. She has experience managing strategic projects, budgets, briefs from
concept through to execution and evaluation.

Alexander Clark – Executive Head Teacher (Trustee only)

ac_photoAlex is a National Leader of Education and substantive head teacher at Avenue Primary Academy. He has been a head teacher since 2001 and supports other schools nationally. Alex is also a Trustee on another local Trust Board.

Jonathan Pritchard – Chair of Avenue LGB (Trustee only)

jp_photoJonathan Pritchard has a background in education and social work.  A qualified residential social worker he worked in several Residential Schools, Children’s Homes and Assessment Centres, in senior positions including Head of Care, deputy officer in charge and acting officer in charge in a number of establishments.  He is also a qualified counsellor.  Jonathan was also an elected local Councillor and during his tenure was the political group’s Education and Children spokesman.  In addition to his Governing Body positions, he is Chairman of the local NSPCC branch, Chairman of the local Friends of Cheam Library.  Currently running his own business providing IT support and web-services.

Terms of Office

The Members of the Trust do not serve a term of office, and remain as members until they resign or leave for another reason.

Trustees are selected by Members, based on required skills. Each Trustee serves a four-year term, and will not serve more than two terms consecutively (does not apply to the Executive Head/CEO). The maximum term for the Chair of the Trust will be six years as Chair.

Each Local Governing Body will have elected members, including at least two parent governors, elected by parents of that school.
